What Does It Mean to Live on Mission?

To live with purpose…with consistency…with passion…with conviction…to make a difference?  This past week we continued our series “Live it Well” with the second essential behavior of a follower of Jesus:

The mission of St. John’s is to Connect people with God, with one another, and with the world.  That connection with the world is found in through living as a MEANS and not as an END.  We connect with God’s purpose for us as we seek to make a difference with the days that we have.  Our spiritual gifts, abilities, heart, experience and personality point us in specific directions.  But we also connect with the world by engaging with the advancement of the Gospel around our globe.

This past week, we highlighted the ministry of Compassion International.  You can check out more at www.compassioninternational.com.  You can also check out a video that we showed in church at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3EEiPfZdnE

So far, we have sponsored more than 30 new children as a church!  (This does not count many who currently sponsor children through Compassion).  We still have 10 packets remaining and would love for you to consider sponsoring a child.  Compassion’s mission is:  RELEASING CHILDREN FROM POVERTY IN JESUS’ NAME.

Whether it’s through Compassion or through some other ministry endeavor, let’s be people and let’s be a church that LIVES MISSIONALLY!

 Have a great week!  Mike
