MIKE BILL, SENIOR PASTOR
Mike began serving St. John's as Senior Pastor beginning on July 1st. 2017. Mike previously served as the Associate Pastor at Sharptown UMC for almost 15 years, primarily serving as the Campus Pastor of Sharptown North (a second campus of Sharptown) for the past two years. Mike grew up in Monroeville, NJ and graduated from Woodstown High School in 1994. He received his Bachelor's degree in Bible and Theology from Asbury College in 1998 and his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2002.
Mike loves the local church, and enjoys seeing people connect with God personally, as well as in authentic relationships and community with others. His leadership and administrative gifts, love for preaching and teaching, and his heart for seeing people grow are his primary strengths in ministry. He and Rachael have regularly hosted groups inside of their home over the years, and look forward to building into others at St. John's and our surrounding community. Mike is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and serves on the District Committee on Ministry. He is also on the Board of Directors at Delanco Camp and serves as President.
Mike has been involved in his community by serving as a police chaplain. Mike is married to Rachael and has three children: Caleb, Elijah, and Isaac. In his free time, Mike enjoys sports of all types, including Fantasy Football. He loves coaching his kids, watching all of the Philly sports teams, and even occasionally trying to finish a round of golf with the same golf balls he started with...
STEVE RUFF, ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Steve was born and raised in South Jersey. Upon graduation from Edgewood High School (currently Winslow HS), Steve attended Palm Beach Atlantic University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. After working for several years in business in South Florida, Steve attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School near Chicago, IL, where he met his wife. Steve earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Trinity in 2013.
Before joining St. John’s, Steve served as an Associate Pastor at Parkside Church near Cleveland, OH, for 3 years. In his free time, Steve enjoys working out, reading on the beach, and simply hanging out with his lovely wife Alisa and pit bull, Bru.
Charlie Paul, Director of Worship
Charlie Paul has led worship for 39 years. He has a BA from Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State College) in music education and has done graduate work at Rowan and Westminster Choir College. This is Charlie’s third time serving God at St. John’s and has as of 2017 been on staff here over the years for 22 years.
Charlie is excited at what God is doing in and through the people of St. John’s and is blessed to be a part of that journey. He and his wife Holly have been married for 39 years and have two adult children, Wes and Kerri. JACK BROOMELL, YOUTH DIRECTOR
Jack was born and raised in Sicklerville, NJ. He graduated from Temple University in 2017 with a degree in English. Jack grew up not attending church but during his freshmen year of college he found himself starting to attend Sicklerville United Methodist Church. From there he started to grow in his faith and committed himself to living a life devoted to God. He started to get involved in the youth and young adult ministry and become the volunteer director for both positions working under the associate pastor. From there he was offered and took a job at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Haddonfield, NJ as the Director of Youth and Family Faith where he stayed for one year.
With all this experience under his belt Jack is excited to start at St. John’s as the Youth Pastor. He has been on 5 mission trips, two of which were to Guatemala. Ever since he started helping out with youth group at Sicklerville United Methodist his heart has been on fire to be in this ministry. Jack felt God calling him to a full time youth position and right after that he was invited to interview at St. John’s. With everything coming together like it did he felt like this is where God wanted him to be.
As for activities Jack finds himself enjoying a lot of things. He likes to play soccer and rugby, lay down in his hammock and read a book, and play board games with friends.
ANGIE BOONE, DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Angie Boone is presently a student at Camden County College where she is studying for her degree in early childhood education. She will transfer to Rowan University in January 2018 to attain her BA in education. Angie has her Associates in Science from Gloucester County College, and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.Angie is excited to see how God is going to use her as she begins her work as Children’s Ministry Director at St. John’s United Methodist Church. She is also currently on staff at St. John’s Nursery school where she has been a teacher’s aide for the past 4 years. Angie has been attending St. John’s since 2010, and became a member in 2012. Since attending St. John’s Angie has been heavily involved in Children’s Ministry. She has been a teacher for Sunday School classes, and has co-directed Vacation Bible School with her close friend Andrea Targonski for the past three years. Angie has a heart for children and knows the importance of leading them to Christ. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth."
Angie is married and the proud mother of 5 children; Christopher, Tommy, Nicolette, Samantha, and Billie. Her hobbies include trips to the shore, doing science experiments with her two youngest girls, Sami and Billie, and reading. A fun fact about Angie is that she loves animals, and is a mommy to a cute little puppy named Skipper, a kitty cat who answers to the name Macie Grey, and Jasper the bearded dragon.
ANDREA TARGONSKI, NURSERY SCHOOL DIRECTOR
As a lifelong member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and an alumna of the school, Andrea is thrilled to be serving as the Director of St. John's Christian Nursery School. She received her BA in Communications from Rowan University and previously worked in corporate marketing and business development before becoming a stay-at-home mom and then Children's Ministry Director here at the church. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she was 12 at a middle school youth event and as the mother of two young children, she has a passion for making a difference in the eternal salvation of kids. She also co-directs St. John's Vacation Bible School, which reaches approximately 250 kids from St. John’s and the community and enlists the help of over 100 volunteers.
In her spare time, she loves to sing, travel to the shore and her happy place, Walt Disney World, and spend time with her favorite sax player, Ed, and their kids, Roy and Grace. Her favorite scripture verse is Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
BILL YERKES, DIRECTOR OF STUDENT ARTS
Bill Yerkes is excited to be back on the ministry team at St. John’s. Bill has a BA in Music Education from Rowan University, and currently teaches Vocal Music at West Deptford High School. There he directs the WDHS Madrigals and Concert Choir, and the annual spring musical. He has music and stage directed productions at the Ritz Theater in Oaklyn and the Broadway Theater in Pitman. He also performed on those stages and played piano and lead their pit musicians. Bill has been part of music ministry since his teens, when he was given the honor of directing the choir at First United Methodist in Gloucester City. He founded and directed the Trinity Chancel Choir and led worship on Sunday mornings. His first years at St. John’s were spent under the leadership of Charlie Paul, who became his friend and mentor. For five years Bill was worship leader at St. John’s until the time came for him to devote more time to his family. Bill and his wife Tina met and were married at St. John’s, and are proud to have their three children, Emily, Madelyn and Andrew, partnering with them in ministry.
STEPHANIE FAUST, OFFICE MANAGER
Stephanie Faust dedicated her life to Christ at age 8. Early on she realized her spiritual gifts were faith, discernment, mercy & administration. One of her favorite bible verses is Proverbs 16:3 “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” After receiving a BA in Communications from Rowan University, she began a 10 year career as the Local Manager finding TV airtime for Christian programming in Philadelphia. Stephanie was the recipient of a merit called the TWIN Award in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments as a woman of excellence given by the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Camden County.
Stephanie has been married to George since 2003, and together they have been blessed with an amazing daughter, Gianna. Her hobbies include fellowship, trips to the shore, walking, board games & coloring. In February of 2010, Stephanie began working in the St. John’s Church Office. Working in the church office puts Stephanie in contact with many special people of St. John’s who she is proud to serve. Her friendly smile is the first thing people see. She has been described as self-giving, kind & compassionate. Her work is motivated by a deep passion to help reach new generations for Jesus Christ. She adds professionalism to our staff and is skilled in project management as well as in providing organizational and office support to the family of St. John’s. God has always been central in her life and she thanks Him every day for all He has given her!

TINA YERKES, OFFICE ASSISTANT
Tina Yerkes has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and customer service. Prior to joining the staff at St. John's UMC, she has worked for regional companies like MetaSense Marketing, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Independence Seaport Museum, South Jersey Tourism, Battleship New Jersey and Ritz Theatre Company. And has now created her own company, Creative Missions, LLC.
Tina has also been co-leading the Education Committee, one of the leaders of Soul Sisters, organized the Life Group Ministry, organized retreats and has a very talented family. She is married to Bill and has 3 amazing children - Emily, Maddie and Andrew.
